new name, same goal

My guess is this: new year, new distribution of funding.

The goal is still the same: provide computer literacy and access to seniors.

That's why I am again donating 4000 AARP Reward points to the AARP Foundation toward this mission.

The name may be changed to OATS, but communication and connectivity is still what it's all about.

Thanks, AARP, for giving me the means to help!

reading is an adventure!

Tonight, I volunteered to be part of Read United Day!
That will be at the end of this month.
What prompted me to do such a thing?
I attended the Reading Buddy Backup training this evening.
My friend Sherry G has been after me for several months to join her in this endeavor, and when the training was finally offered, I went.
So, children, you can thank Mrs. Sherry for that!
And children of Pulaski Elementary School, y'all can thank her, too!
I'll be at that school for two sessions on Read United Day.
I'm really excited to be part of this!

better ingredients, better food

I know, that sounds like a commercial, doesn't it?
Maybe one for a restaurant, though I can't recall which one.
That's neither here nor there.
I'm talking about a group in Tanzania wanting to improve their crop yield.
Here they are, with the emphasis on Costantino.
He's the big 34-year-old on the far right.
He's asking for a loan of $6,100 to purchase certified fertilizers, pesticides, and micro-nutrients.
As I wrote in the comments on his fundraising page, "Better farming techniques and supplies mean better food for families and communities!"
I do hope that will help him get the rest of the funds he needs.
Good for him for having the support of so many others!
