I had not realized just how many charitable loans I made to strangers this year until I received my annual report from Kiva.
Amazing... and heartening, too.

Oh, one more thing about that.
The $140,000,000 loaned came from 481,344 lenders, including me.
That works out to an average of $291 loaned per lender.
I guess that makes me a little less than average -
I'll have to try a little harder in 2021!

I joined the Nerdfighters of Kiva in August of 2012.
That means this year marked my EIGHTH anniversary with them.
Pretty cool how all those 8's came together this year, isn't it?

Let's start the year strong.
Faustina, together, we made it through a challenging year and created big change. With over $1.7 million donated by almost 75,000 Kiva supporters, we can now fund 453,333 more loans for borrowers next year. We're ready for an incredible 2021.

Aside:
That boils down to a little over $22 per Kiva supporter, with the funds going to Kiva for operating and website expenses.
I donated $5 last month, plus another $6 last week, plus another few dollars along the way (when I made loans, I including their processing fee).
So, I guess that makes me at least 'average' -
good.
