The Congressional National Marine Sanctuary Caucus, that's what.
So, what exactly is a caucus?
That's a political interest group formed from members of a legislative body.
Hence, this particular one is formed from members of the US Congress for the purpose of protecting our National Marine Sanctuaries, as well as all of the diverse forms of life that call those places, as well as other bodies of water on Earth, their home.
I've called upon my members of Congress - Jon Ossoff, Raphael Warnock, and Earl "Buddy" Carter - to become members.
At this date, only Representative Buddy Carter is a member.
Good for him.
Neither of the Senators are part of that Caucus.
I'll remember that when elections come around... and they're coming.
I know.
I've been seeing the 'mercials.

Hi Faustina,
We asked you to use your voice and speak up for our marine sanctuaries by urging your elected officials to join the bipartisan Congressional National Marine Sanctuary Caucus – and you all came through!
8 NEW members of Congress from the Great Lakes, to the Gulf, to the Chesapeake Bay heard the call to represent our National Marine Sanctuary System and their sanctuary communities. Please join us in welcoming Reps. Tonko (D-NY), Morelle (D-NY), Kiggans (R-VA), Weber (R-TX), Pallone (D-NJ), Moulton (D-MA), Elfreth (D-MD), and Scott (D-VA). This brings the total Caucus membership to 43 Representatives!
Thanks to sanctuary supporters just like YOU, we saw a wave of support for sanctuaries and DOUBLED our initial goal with over 1,000 letters sent before National Marine Sanctuary Day!
And the response from your Representatives showed that your voice matters. They heard the message loud and clear - marine sanctuaries matter to you and your communities.
When we work together, we see a rising tide of support for and stewardship of our marine sanctuaries from coast to coast.
Now more than ever before, it is critical for every single marine sanctuary supporter to stand up and keep making waves.
With thanks,
Shannon Colbert, National Marine Sanctuary Foundation
