new name, same goal

My guess is this: new year, new distribution of funding.

The goal is still the same: provide computer literacy and access to seniors.

That's why I am again donating 4000 AARP Reward points to the AARP Foundation toward this mission.

The name may be changed to OATS, but communication and connectivity is still what it's all about.

One of the more worthwhile things I did today?

I used some of my AARP Reward Points to do good.

After all, I am a Nerdfighter!

So, when I found this patch of need, I applied 4000 points toward it, stat.

Folks need to be able to communicate with others, most especially when the weather is too nasty to allow face-to-face contact.

Ah, the marvels of the computer age!

Why her, out of the many with loans to be funded on Kiva?

That's the comment I left on her page.

A stationery shop - oh, the hours and hours I have spent in such places over my life, carefully selecting the perfect paper for missives to family and friends!

That is the message I sent out for my fellow Nerdfighters.

I do hope some of them will join me in this birthday quest! 

As I told them, I know of no other loans that have her mission.

Let's help make that dream a reality!!!

Success! There she is, Andrea Kay, with her cellist and drawings of her father, at the health professions conference in Atlanta, Georgia!
That was April 4th, her first presentation of her work.
I am sure she will travel far, and continuously, with her talk about connecting to her father during his last days. Connecting to the man she loved through the fog in which he lived, the fog known as Alzheimer's Disease.
This kickstarter project is dear to me. I have several friends working in the health professions field and I have shared this young woman's work with them. I will continue to do so as time marches forward, because dementia is widespread and heartbreaking to so many in this world.
Novel approaches are needed. Not only for those stricken with dementia, but for those who love them and those who care for them.
